On the 23rd September 2011, 82 representatives of Rossendale meet to discuss the future of the valley and think about what the key issues were. For the finding from the event, organised by the Rossendale Forum, 'Working Together to Shape Rossendale,' please see here.
The new Rossendale Forum...
Responding to the challenges of Localism, Rossendale has reviewed its local partnership arrangements and as a result, the Council has supported partners in establishing a new Rossendale Forum to focus on those issues that are most important in Rossendale, and which local organisations have the power to improve through effective partnership working.
The partnership model has been widened to enable greater community involvement, ensuring it is in touch with local views, through positioning its local Neighbourhood Forums at the core of the partnership and delivering what matters to local people.
What to find out more?
There are four Neighbourhood Forums across the Borough covering the areas of Whitworth, Bacup, Rawtenstall and Haslingden, Helmshore & Edenfield. Membership of the Neighbourhood Forums is made up of representatives of the local community, ward councillors and partners such as the Police, Health Service and Lancashire County Council. The role of the Neighbourhood Forums is to work together to jointly address issues of concern to our communities.
