Christmas Lights Switch Ons in Rossendale

It’s that time of the year again . . . Christmas is almost here, and to celebrate Christmas, we will be switching on the Christmas lights in spectacular fashion. From the celebrity to Christmas Markets, we have it all.

Haslingden

The Christmas Lights Switch On in Haslingden will, as always, be a family friendly event bringing together the community. This year, Haslingden’s Colourful Christmas lights Switch on will be held on 3rd December on Higher Deardengate (outside the library) by the Mayor of Rossendale.

Feel free to come down to Haslingden and visit the markets where a fine selection of food, seasonal art and crafts will be available or you and your children to buy.

There is also plenty of entertainment for you to enjoy so bring your children along to Haslingden and enjoy the beginning of another beautiful Christmas in Haslingden.

Switch on at Higher Deardengate (outside the library) between 16:00 to 17:00, 3rd December 2016.

Rawtenstall

The Christmas Lights Switch on will be me more magical than ever this year in Rawtenstall Town Square. On 26th November our very own Paralympic double silver medallist, Tom Hamer from Rawtenstall will switch on the Christmas lights and set the scene for the start of an amazing Christmas season.

Rawtenstall Town square will also be hosting a spectacular Christmas Markets with lots of stalls offering a selection of Artisan food, coffees, beers and teas to keep you warn during the Christmassy weather. There will also be plenty of entertainment, The Rossendale Sounds, Water Brass Band and the Valley Aloud Community Choir will all be playing during the day of the lights switch on. To keep the children entertained, there will be a festive treasure hunt and even a Lantern Parade to watch. 

Be sure to bring your family along to the switch on, it’s guaranteed to keep you and your children happy and entertained.

Rawtenstall Town Square, (11.00 till 20:00) Switch on between 16.30 – 17.30, 26th December 2016.

Whitworth

Father Christmas will be making his way his Grotto in Whitworth 27th November and this is your chance to see him in person, so it’s not an event to miss.

Father Christmas will be switching on the lights for Whitworth while the Whitworth Community Choir Band entertains the guests. The Riverside will serve a glass of mulled wine and a delicious mince pie to keep you warm for a small fee. Refreshments for children will also be available.  

Be sure to bring your friends and family along with you for a fun evening. 

Switch on at 17:30 at The Riverside, Civic Hall, 27th December 2016. 

 

Bacup

The lights switch on in Bacup will be held on the 7th December this year. As always, it will be a magical scene with Father Christmas and his helpers visiting Bacup on his sleigh.

The Christmas Market will also display a range of seasonal arts, crafts and refreshments for you to treat yourself to as you have a sing along as the Stacksteads Band entertains you with their seasonal music. Lanterns which featured in the Stacksteads Lantern Parade will also be on display and are guaranteed to keep the children entertained. 

The Switch On will be taking place on Irwell Vale and be conducted by the Mayor of Rossendale. Be sure to make your way to Bacup along with your children for a day of entertainment, delicious food and above all, a warm Rossendale welcome.
