The Mayor of Rossendale

The Mayor of Rossendale for 2017/18 is Councillor Colin Crawforth. Cllr Crawforth represents the Hareholme Ward and was first elected in 2007. Cllr Crawforth was elected Mayor at the Annual Meeting of the Council held on 12th May 2017. Councillor Crawforth will be accompanied on civic engagements by the Mayoress, Mrs Denise Crawforth.

Cllr Crawforth was born in Kingston upon Hull, East Yorkshire, where he spent the first nine years of his life.

Cllr Crawforth gained a degree in Chemistry from Preston College, followed by a PHD from Lancaster University. He has had a very successful career as a teacher spanning 30+ Years.

Cllr Crawforth is married to Denise, and had two children, Nicola and Simon. However, Simon passed away tragically in 2002. Cllr Crawforth also has a granddaughter named Chloe.

Cllr Crawforth has lived in Rawtenstall for 27 Years.

Cllr Crawforth is a member of St Paul’s Church Constable Lee where I have been Church Warden for a long time and more recently an Authorised Lay Minister (ALM). He is also a Trustee at International Aid Trust (IAT).

Denise also has numerous commitments including School Governor, an active worker with mums and toddlers, helping with people with learning disabilities as well as helping in packaging aid at IAT.

 

 

The Deputy Mayor for 2017/2018 is Councillor Ann Kenyon. Councillor Kenyon will be accompanied by the Deputy Mayor’s Consort, Mr Haydon Kenyon.
