Environmental Health

The Environmental Health department at Rossendale Borough Council has a number of specialist teams who concentrate on food safety, pollution, public safety and Health and safety and general public health matters
The work of the Environmental Health department is holistic in nature which means that it spans a wide range of environmental health issues, with a focus on domestic public health matters.


The Council no longer has any housing stock following the transfer to Green Vale Homes in April 2006. However, we do provide a range of housing advice services through our Housing Options Team and work closely with other housing providers to ensure that the housing available in Rossendale meets the needs of its communities.


The regeneration team within Rossendale is responsible for the delivery of projects and intitiatives to improve the local economy and general wellbeing for Rossendale's communities. It brings together people from across the Council with a wide range of skills to ensure that the Council's key projects are delivered.

Economic Development

The Economic Development Team aim to provide opportunities to improve the local economy through developing intitiaitves and identifying reources to help, advise and assist local businesses and new businesses, develop the visitor economy and bringing in new investment and funding opportunities. The aim is to attract people, businesses and visitors to the borough in order to improve the economic prosperity for everyone.

Rossendale Borough Council is responsible for maintianing its own car parks which are listed here. On Street Parking is the repsponsibility of Lancashire County Council and is enforced by them. More information is availble here.
