What now? services

About us

Lancashire County Council Youth and Community Service believe strongly that young people should have the opportunity to develop information seeking and decision making skills during the course of their lives.

What Now? Services provides a range of services which aim to assist young
people gain these skills and get hold of the information which is going to
make a difference to them.

Are you between 11-25 years old? Do you need information or advice on
anything that may concern you or someone that you know?

Lancashire Youth and Community Service provides 13 What Now? Info Centres across the County to make sure young people have the information and support to make decisions which affect them. Workers at the centres are trained in offering high quality Information, Advice and Advocacy.

The two What Now? Info centres in Rossendale are in Bacup and Rawtenstall.

The Service currently provides a holistic range of discreet services that
offer advice, information and advocacy to young people, and referral to
specialist counseling.

The telephone helpline service workers use customised local information databases to provide up to date information to callers on young peoples sexual health clinics, education and work options, relationships issues, youth provision etc. etc. All responses are non-judgmental and impartial with information being researched for each enquiry from the databases kept updated by a dedicated team of workers.
