Join in Council debates

Local people are being invited to join in a series of single issue debates which will be held at future meetings of Rossendale Council’s Full Council. Rossendale Council hopes that more people will attend the two-monthly meeting of Full Council if they are more interactive with local people.

No ombudsman complaints upheld against Rossendale Council in the last 12 months

For the first time in more than three years, the Local Government Ombudsman has not upheld any complaints against Rossendale Council. Latest figures released by the Ombudsman show that between April 2007 and March 2008 a total of 18 complaints were concluded by the Ombudsman, but in none of them was any evidence of maladministration found.

Changes to Concessionary Travel

From April 2008 a new National Concessionary Travel scheme has been introduced in Lancashire for Older People and Disabled People. This replaces the previous concessionary arrangements.
