Pollution control - permitted processes: Outline
These permits are part of a system for controlling emissions and contain conditions to limit emissions. Rossendale currently have approximately 24 permitted processes including petrol stations, rubber processes, coating processes and timber processes.
Permits are reviewed every six years. All premises which are subject to a permit are inspected at a frequency depending on their risk.
During inspections officers will ensure the conditions of the permit are being complied with, progress is being made in regards to any conditions attached to the permit and any upgrading required by guidance notes has been implemented.
