DIRECTIONS BY CAR FROM THE SOUTH:
- Take the A671 from Rochdale directing you towards Whitworth and Bacup.
- As you enter Whitworth, you'll see signs for 'welcome to Lancashire / Rossendale' (the 'welcome to Whitworth' sign is missing at the moment!) and take a fairly sharp bend round to your right. This is Market Street, the main road through Whitworth.
- The Civic Hall complex, in which the Council Offices reside, is approx. 2 miles into the village, on Market Street itself. In case you think you've missed it, markers to look out for include The Birches pub on your left, the Sportsman's pub on your right and the Co-op on your right (nearly there now).
- After the Co-op, you'll pass two rows of stone terraced houses on your left, and then one short row set back a little from the road. You need to take the first turning on your left immediately after this row, next to the islands in the road - the town Memorial Gardens and cenotaph are on the opposite side of the road. This is the Civic Hall (Riverside) complex.
- Car parking can be found round the back of the building, and the Council Offices are clearly marked.
DIRECTIONS BY CAR FROM THE NORTH:
- Enter the village via the A671 or A6066 from Bacup.
- As you enter the town, you'll see a 'Welcome to Whitworth' sign on your right hand side.
- The Civic Hall complex, in which the Council Offices reside, is approx. 2 miles into the village, on Market Street itself. In case you think you've missed it, markers to look out for include Shawforth Chapel on your right, St John's Church on your left, and Facit Mill also on your left.
- Shortly after you pass Facit Mill, you'll see a red post box on your right; turn right immediately after this. This is the Civic Hall (Riverside) complex.
- Car parking can be found round the back of the building, and the Council Offices are clearly marked.
