Independent people wanted to scrutinise finance and accounts
Rossendale Council is inviting local people to apply to become a co-opted member on the council’s Audit and Accounts Committee. This committee assists the council in scrutinising finance and receiving reports from both internal and external auditors.
The term of office for co-opted members is two years and the committee meets approximately three times per year, in the evening at 6.30pm.
Applicants for this position should not be councillors or employees of the council or close friends or relatives of either. Please note this is an unpaid position.

The appointment will be made by the council following consideration of all the applications received. The successful applicant will be required to comply with the Council’s Code of Conduct for members/co-opted members and the member/officer protocol, and by completing a form giving details of financial and other interests.
Closing date for receipt of applications: Friday 30th August
Interviews will be held on Tuesday 10th September.
