Independent people wanted

Rossendale Council is inviting local people to apply to become a member of the Remuneration Panel.  This panel reviews allowances paid to council members and makes recommendations for changes to the Members’ Allowances Scheme at least once every 4 years. 

Applicants must not be employed by the council, be a member of the council or be disqualified from being a member of the authority.   You should also be politically neutral to apply. 

Although this is an unpaid role, travel expenses will be covered if attendance at meetings is required.

The appointment will be made by the council following consideration of all the applications received.  The successful applicant will be required to comply with the Council’s Code of Conduct for members/co-opted members.

The closing date for receipt of applications is Friday 17th September and those successful at the shortlisting stage will be invited for interview.
