Council Tax payments

The coronavirus outbreak is having a significant impact on our residents and many people may be struggling to pay Council Tax, especially if they have suffered a sudden drop in income.

Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support 

We will be doing all we can to continue to pay Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support as quickly as possible to our residents. If you need to contact us about your Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support claim you should do so by email to:

Council Tax reduction for low income families

Government has confirmed Council Tax for low income homes already on a reduced bill will be cut further. The maximum cut will be £150 per household, and where a bill is already below £150 it will be reduced to zero.

Amended council tax notices were issued to around 3700 customers on 24th May. This scheme will run until March 2021 and will be automatically awarded to new claimants.

It is not yet clear if any funds will remain after the initial awards are made. Further information will be posted here if there is scope for additional discretionary awards.
