Community Partnerships
Community Partnerships are informal partnerships involving:
- Local residents and representatives of local community groups
- Borough and County Councillors
- Rossendale Borough Council, Lancashire Police and Together Housing.
There are four Community Partnerships across Rossendale covering the areas of:
- Haslingden
- Rawtenstall
- Bacup
- Whitworth
Community Partnerships promote engagement and partnership working at the community level. Rossendale's heritage is unique and its people have a strong sense of connection to the area in which they live. This strong sense of belonging to a place and the different social, economic, health and wellbeing challenges each community faces have shaped the development of the Community Partnerships. Over recent years they have worked effectively to build strong links with and amongst local community members as well as influencing local service delivery. Community membership of the Community Partnerships has been a particular strength and the networking and information sharing opportunities are valued by Partnership members.
Each Community Partnerships meets three times each year, as informal community meetings, to allow networking and information sharing and agreed action points. The meetings are chaired by a Borough Councillor and informal notes are usually taken. Local residents are welcome to attend their local Community Partnership meetings.
