Blue recycling bin (glass, cans and plastics)

Things that you can put in the blue bin are:

  • Aerosol cans - e.g. shaving gel

  • Cans and tins - food and drink

  • Coloured food trays

  •  Perfume/aftershave glass bottles (ideally with pump or spray end removed)

  •  Foil - food trays and tin foil

  • Glass bottles and jars with lids on

  • Plastic bottles with lids on (e.g. milk, shampoo/conditioner, detergent)

  • Plastic pots, tubes and trays

  • Cleaning product bottles

  • Bottle lids and plastic tops

  • Tetra Pak and fruit juice cartons

  • Toothpaste tubes

  • Toiletry bottles

Items must be clean and empty.

Things that you can’t put in your blue bin are:

  • Any household waste

  • Cling film

  • Engine oil bottles

  • Plastic bags

  • Polystyrene

  • Plastic toys

  • Window glass

  • Lighter fluid

  • Hosepipes

  • Garden furniture

  • Textiles (including clothing, bedding, shoes and curtains)

  • Pyrex

  • Batteries

  • Vapes
