To drive a Private Hire vehicle you must have a licence issued by us.
Please read the private hire taxi driver licence guidance notes before completing the application form.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted and will be returned to you.
We expect all applicants to familiarise themselves with Council policies and conditions attached to licences.
All renewal Private Hire drivers will have to complete and pass a Knowledge and Conditions Test if your license expires after 1st June 2017. We will only renew your licence when you have successfully passed this test.
A mock test can be found below which gives you an idea of the types of questons asked and how the questions are displayed i.e. multiple choice.
Applicants for a Private Hire Driver Licence should note the "three- licence rule"; Driver, Vehicle and Operator must all be licensed by the same Authority.
