Business expo comes to Rossendale to showcase local businesses

A business exhibition is planned for Rossendale in June to showcase the best in local companies, of all shapes and sizes, alongside local food and live entertainment.

Rossendale Means Business (RMB) will be held on Tuesday June 11 at The Whitaker, Rossendale Museum and Art Gallery in Rawtenstall from 10am to 4pm.

The event is being organised by Rossendale Borough Council in collaboration with digital marketing agency GrowTraffic and business advisor Jane Pallister from Boommm Consultancy.

The event’s platinum sponsor is WHN Solicitors who will be delivering the first seminar.

GrowTraffic Executive Erin Dempsey said: “This has come about because many of us have been to other Lancashire Expos and they are usually in larger areas and we felt that small and medium sized businesses can be overlooked.

“I am a Rossendale girl and want to support Rossendale businesses and help them to grow and we decided the way to do it was to hold our own event.”

There will be 60 stalls at the event with businesses ranging from Farley’s Solicitors, to Theo Technologies and Rossendale Valley Energy plus many more.

It costs £100 to exhibit and there will only be two stalls from each business sector. Businesses are provided with a table, social media exposure after the event, their logos will displayed on marketing literature plus a  free lunch and the first chance to book for the 2025 Expo.

Besides business stalls, there will be live entertainment and a food court.

Jane Pallister has been a business advisor for many years and moved to Rossendale nearly two years ago.

She has held several free business workshops for Rossendale Borough Council and works closely with the council’s Business Advisor Tariq Ali.

Jane said: “This event is very much focused on businesses that are based in the Valley. We have had interest from outside of Rossendale to exhibit but we decided to keep the exhibition stands just for local businesses. But we'd encourage businesses and delegates from outside Rossendale to come along and see what is on offer here and see some of the fantastic businesses we have.

“We want it to be a showcase for the whole Valley, so we will also be promoting its heritage, food and events.

“Myself and Tariq will be ‘Business Buddies’ and around all day to offer free advice to anyone who is thinking of starting their own business in Rossendale or looking to grow what they do but need input to take them to the next level.”

The event will be free to attend and businesses and delegates from outside of Rossendale are also encouraged to attend to see what the valley and it's businesses have to offer.
