Rossendale Borough Council is inviting local residents to share their views on potential improvements to the play areas located in Worsley, Haslingden and Cowpe, Waterfoot
Two online surveys will be open until midday, Monday 7th July 2025, giving the community an opportunity to help shape the future of these recreational grounds.
This engagement forms part of the Council’s wider commitment to create clean, safe, and welcoming spaces that foster community pride and supports the development of children through active health and wellbeing.
Councillor Adrian Lythgoe, Portfolio Holder for Environment and Corporate Services said: “These parks are much-loved spaces in our communities. By capturing the views of the people who use them most, we can make sure the improvements truly reflect what the community wants and needs.
“We want to hear from as many people as possible.”
Rossendale Borough Council has allocated £20k to support this project and aims to use the survey results to support applications for additional external funding. These responses will help justify the need for investment and guide the designs for the upgraded play areas.
Once external funding is secured, the Council will proceed with a tender process to appoint a contractor to design, supply, and install the new equipment.
