Council Services Christmas 2025
Council offices will close at 4.00pm on the 24th December 2025 and will shut on the following days:
- Thursday 25th December 2025
- Friday 26th December 2025
- Saturday 27th December 2025
- Sunday 28th December 2025
- Monday 29th December 2025
- Tuesday 30th December 2025
- Wednesday 31st December 2025
- Thursday 1st January 2026
Offices reopen Friday 2nd January 2026 9.00 am
Throughout the Christmas and New Year period you can continue to make applications, report issues and make payments online but please be aware that these may not be processed until Friday 2nd January 2026.
During this time if you have an emergency please ring 0330 016 8012 for out of hours emergency council services.
If you are homeless and need emergency accommodation on Monday 29th December, Tuesday 30th December and Wednesday 31st December 2025 between the hours of 9am to 5pm, please ring 0333 003 7679. For all other times please call the emergency number 0330 016 8012
Changes to bin collections are shown below
We have a Christmas tree collection service costing £5 each per Christmas tree (max 2 trees per houshold) between Monday 5th December until Saturday 24th January 2026. We will shred and recycle the organic material from the trees, avoiding the material being sent to landfill.
