Safe and Secure Grant
Purpose
The grant is to help older, disabled or vulnerable residents to feel safe and secure in their own home.
Eligibility Criteria
Residents of Rossendale living in their own home either in the private rented sector, social rented sector or owner occupiers who are aged 65 or over, disabled or vulnerable. Eligible works can include but are not restricted to:
• New window and door locks
• New front and rear doors if they are insecure
• Secure gates/fencing
• Security lighting
• Installation of home security items as required
Amount and Application
The maximum amount of grant is £5,000 and it is means tested.
The application will be made in writing and will require an owner or tenant certificate.
In most circumstances, one grant only will be permitted to the property in a period of 5 years.
