Registered Parks and Gardens
The National Heritage Act 1983 enables Historic England to compile a register of gardens and other land of special historic interest. The Register is compiled with the aim of identifying important historic designed landscapes in order to increase awareness of the existence of these sites, and to encourage their protection and conservation.
The only registered park in Rossendale is Whitworth Cemetery (grade II).
