The current Mayor of Rossendale
Councillor Michelle Smith is the Mayor of Rossendale 2025-26. Mrs Jackie Oakes is the Mayoress and will usually accompany the Mayor on engagements.
Councillor Smith is the elected councillor for the Britannia & Lee Mill Ward and was confirmed as Mayor at the Annual Council meeting on 16th May 2025.

Mayor’s charity fund
Each year, the Mayor of Rossendale raises money for local charities through collections and organised events.
This year the Mayor of Rossendale will be raising funds for:
- Carers Link
- Bacup Pride
- Kids in Rossendale
- Other Local Charities
To make a donation to the Mayor’s Charity Fund please contact the Mayor’s Office.
To apply for a donation from the fund, please write to the Mayor’s Office. The letter should include details of your organisation and a brief description of how you will use the donation.
