Working with Proffitts CIC, extensive consultation has taken place and detailed plans drawn up for improvements to the car park and former playground area in the centre of Waterfoot. The Council has allocated £53,000 to the project, which has now increased to £131k following successful funding applications (£48k from Viridor and £30k from Lancashire Environmental Fund). The outcome of a final funding application from Newground for £7k is awaited, following which the consulted plans will be completed by December 2017.
