Planning Portal
The Planning Portal is the national planning and building application service and works in partnership with every local authority across England. The Portal makes planning and building information, applications and services simpler and more accessible. Using the Planning Portal is the preferred way to submit your building control or planning application to us. Visit www.planningportal.co.uk
If you are unsure of your application fees, please contact us at buildingcontrol@rossendalebc.gov.uk for a quote once you have submitted your application.
Do I need approval?
Building Regulation approval is not required for all building work. You can find information on the types of work that need approval, which are exempt, or which can be approved by a Competent Person on the gov.uk website or on the Planning Portal.
Types of application
There are three types of application you can make; full plans, building notice, and regularisation. The gov.uk website outlines each of these application types.
Building Control fees will be determined based on the type of work involved, the number of dwellings, or total floor area. Click to download our latest schedule of fees. If you are unsure about calculating your fee, please contact us for a quote.
How do I submit my application?
