Before submitting an application for planning permission, you should familiarise yourself with the Local Planning Authority’s Core Strategy and Supplementary Planning Documents, available here.

1. Pre Application Advice

The Local Planning Authority provides a pre-application advice service which is specifically designed to get a Planning Officer’s professional view on the prospect of obtaining planning permission. Comments made at pre-application stage are for general guidance only and are made without prejudice to the determination of any future planning application.

Please Note: Upon receipt of your enquiry it will be passed to the Principal Planning Officer. The Officer will contact you via email to inform you of the fee that is required, and any other documents/plans in order to process your enquiry.

Please note, the Duty Planning Officer can not give advice about the acceptability of a proposal as in such cases the Council’s Pre-application Service should be utilised.
