The Revenues & Benefits Service administers claims for Housing Benefit & Council Tax Benefit on behalf of the Department of Work & Pensions. These benefit schemes are intended for people who are unemployed or on low incomes to help pay their rent and/or council tax.  The Service also administers the Discretionary Housing Payment scheme.

  • Housing Benefit:- This is a means tested benefit for tenants to help pay their rent.
  • Council Tax Benefit:- This is a means tested benefit for people to help pay their Council Tax.
  • Discretionary Housing Payments:- Help for claimants who are receiving Housing Benefit or Council Tax benefit but do not receive enough to cover the full amount of rent/council tax charged.
  • About Local Housing Allowance :- Important changes that will affect customers claiming help with their rent from a private landlord.
