History
The surrounding Edgeside area saw rapid population and industrial growth throughout the 1800s, with many houses and structures built using local Haslingden Flagstone, quarried right at Edgeside. As the local residential footprint expanded, several rows of terraced houses (such as Primrose Bank) were demolished mid-century to extend the park's footprint into the neighborhood.
